Roughtail Brewing Co. has become a familiar gathering place for us as the host of our annual Hear N' Beer patient appreciation event. With great food, a spacious, laid-back atmosphere, and plenty of ways to enjoy an afternoon or evening out, it's easy to see why people enjoy spending time there. What we've come to appreciate just as much is their staff - a knowledgeable, easygoing team that knows how to put on a great event.
After another fantastic Hear N' Beer celebration, we thought Roughtail was more than deserving of a Love Local spotlight!
Bold Beer. Local Roots.
Founded in 2012, Roughtail has grown from a small Midwest City brewing operation into a popular Oklahoma City gathering spot. With a spacious taproom, on-site kitchen, and a calendar of activities and events, there's plenty happening beyond the brewery itself.
Known for their IPAs and creative approach to brewing, Roughtail has a cleverly named lineup featuring favorites like Everything Rhymes With Orange, Hoptometrist, and Frickin' Hazer Beams, along with lagers, blonde ales, seasonal selections, and limited releases.
But you certainly don't have to be a beer enthusiast to enjoy Roughtail! Their menu includes nonalcoholic options like fountain drinks, along with wine and signature cocktails. And let's not forget the food! Their kitchen serves pub favorites like burgers (really good burgers!), wings, wraps, and rotating specials.
Whether you're there for the food, the atmosphere, or one of their many activities like trivia or sports watch parties, Roughtail makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile.
The People Behind the Pints
On October 27, we had the pleasure of treating our patients to a fun night at Roughtail for our 2nd Annual Hear N Beer patient appreciation event. We enjoyed delicious food (and plenty of it!), conversation, and laughter while catching up with one another, visiting with our staff and industry partners, and joining in the fun of our prize giveaways.
Behind it all was the Roughtail team, making everything look effortless. Their staff was prepared (even had backup plans for backup plans!), attentive, easygoing, and completely on top of things. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, clearly communicated, and smoothly executed. Roughtail took care of the details so we could focus on enjoying the evening with our patients.
When Plans Change
When an unexpected water main break down the road from Roughtail caused us to reschedule our original Hear N' Beer event in September, their team didn't miss a beat. They notified us immediately, offered flexible solutions, and worked with us to find a new date.
Despite the unexpected setback, they made the entire process easy to navigate. They even generously contributed merchandise and a gift card for our raffle!

What makes a great local business isn't just what they offer, but who they serve and how they serve them. It's about the people, the atmosphere, and the pride they take in what they do. Our experience with Roughtail has given us a firsthand appreciation for the care and effort they put into their business.
